Once upon a time in Miami, Florida, we (Amanda Waters and Roxanne Ortiz) were auditors at Goldstein Schechter Koch Accounting & Consulting firm (GSK).

During our tenure at GSK, we worked extensively on many local nonprofit audit engagements and developed expertise and a love for this niche. As time went by, we went on to become a CFO (Roxanne for a few local nonprofits) and a partner (at GSK Amanda). Fast forward a few years, and we both started our own accounting consulting firms (2016) and began working together while managing our own companies.

In 2021, we formed Waters|Ortiz Accounting out of a passion for serving nonprofit organizations and helping them achieve financial excellence. Today, Waters|Ortiz solely focuses on nonprofit clients, offering a complete accounting solution with expert guidance and strategic insight that goes beyond the numbers.
