- Why did you choose Waters|Ortiz? WO offers a hybrid of public and private accounting work that I find enjoyable.
- What do you love most about your job/profession? I enjoy accounting because it involves a lot of logical thinking. I also enjoy problem-solving and optimizing business solutions, which leads to better reporting and process efficiencies for clients. Additionally, one of my college accounting professors emphasized that accounting is the language of business, a skill that few people are proficient in.
- What is your specialty at Waters|Ortiz, and how do you go above and beyond to serve your clients? I have about five years of experience in public accounting, specifically auditing. Therefore, I enjoy working on preparing clients for audits, collaborating with auditors, and drafting financial statements. Drafting financial statements is like assembling a financial puzzle in a clear and readable format for financial statement users.
- What book or movie do you recommend to others and why? I recommend watching “Inside Job.” It is a documentary about the 2007-2008 financial crisis and is very insightful.
- What interesting fact about yourself would you most like your readers to know? I have been inside the Moscow Kremlin and the Russian Diamond Fund room, a special exhibition space within the Moscow Kremlin Armoury where a collection of historic Russian crown jewels, precious stones, and gold nuggets are displayed.
- What do you enjoy doing most in your free time? Going to the beach.
